Yale's Pneumatic Internal Combustion forklifts are designed to handle some of the harshest environments, applications and industries. The GP-VX Series by Yale has six and four cylinder Yanmar, Mazda, Cummins and GM engines powered in liquid propane gas, diesel and gasoline models. These engines are proven for reliability and performance as far as their application goes. In the industry, Yale has proved to be among the major players, leading the way with innovative technology and excellent design. Additionally, these machinery have proven to be safe and dependable over the years.
The electrically controlled transmissions called Techtronix provides Yale's customers great performance and durability. Yale Hi-Vis masts integrate innovative engineering, superior visibility and solid construction. These components are all designed for low-maintenance, extended life as well as amazing performance.
Work and Head Lamps
There are specific standards implemented by OSHA that need directional lighting on the truck if general lighting is less than 2 lumens per square foot. This makes ample lighting a safety requirement inside of darkened buildings or at night time.
Yale provides optional lighting to meet the applications requirements of each client. These options consist of halogen lighting options and LED options that are both designed in order to resist damaging effects of weather, shock and vibration, while increasing visibility in low ambient light settings.
Operator Restraint Systems
In the event of a lift truck tip over, an operator restraint system can help the operator keep their torso and head in the confines of the lift truck frame and overhead guard. Using an operator restraint system correctly can really decrease the chance of serious injury from happening. Every one of the newer Yale lift trucks consists of Hip Restraints and an Anti-Cinch Seat Belt as part of their standard equipment. Yale is proud to provide operator restraint systems which are capable of being retrofitted into various older Yale lift trucks.
To reduce forklift maintenance, regular inspections could help you save significantly over the long haul use of your machine. The standing joke in the industry is a forklift technician coining the saying "Pay me now, or pay me later," as it generally costs more to procrastinate when it comes to forklifts. Like for instance, the minor fixes which are not repaired could later turn into costly repairs.
Tilt Cylinders
If they are left unchecked, oil leaks are a very serious concerns. On a regular basis, the machine must be inspected for oil leaks and/or damage. Oil leaks can cause really dangerous uncontrolled movement of the mast. Whether the leaks are in the cylinder or outside, the outcome could result in loss of vital fluid and cylinder drift. When damage or leaks are detected, you typically will need to replace the entire cylinder assembly or the seals.
Chains
You don't want mast lift chains to stretch beyond acceptable limits, so pay attention and watch carefully for any indications of damage or wear and tear. Regularly check a chain wear gauge in order to monitor the wear. If the chain is worn beyond 2% or rusted, it is time to replace the chain. Following these guidelines will help keep your machinery functioning optimally.
Mast
When using the lift control lever, the mast has to be moved up and down smoothly, making sure to check if the mast is moving smoothly forwards and backwards. You might need to lubricate the mast strip sliding surfaces if the sliding surfaces are binding. Lubricate their fittings also, because there is a fitting located on both sides of the inner mast. The lift bracket side rollers are one more lubrication spot.
Forks
The forks have to be inspected for damage, wear and cracks as worn or cracked forks could fail with out any warnings. Any fork damage of course means immediately taking the truck out of service. If the cracks are deeper than just on the surface, they must be replaced as they really can't be safely fixed.
